New WhatsApp privacy features has been announced by Meta

WhatsApp users can now leave group chats(on WhatsApp) silently and also, will be able to control their last seen(online status) and can also block users who try to screenshot on “View Once” messages 


Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive Meta said this would help to keep messaging on WhatsApp “as private and secure as face-to-face conversation” 


The effect will start this month(August). The Meta team are globally campaigning on this feature starting in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 

Leaving Group Chat silently 


Currently, WhatsApp messaging app automatically alerts all members of a group chat that someone has left the group or being removed by default or by administrators 
With the recent and upcoming updates, users can leave or will be able to leave without any member in the group having a clue, except “group administrators”

The update will also give WhatsApp users the option to allow only certain contacts or no one to see when they’re active on the platform or not. This brings the online status options “last seen settings” 



Mark stated that; users can now block or deny people from trying to “screenshot” “view once” photos 



From my point of view, this update will be the best add up and feel more secure as stated in the above sentences
