For many months, Akufo-Addo and his government failed to admit the challenges Ghanaians were facing but rather clapped back at the critics of the current administration.

With the presidential press corps at the Jubilee House on Friday, 28th October, 2022 the president H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said, his government needs the support of every citizen to help turn the country away from the further economic crisis. 

I have seen the difficulties that our currency has been having. I have seen the difficulties and dramatic rice of price levels, significant rice in the cost of living and difficulties, generally, in the manner the economy is rising.

The president told the journalists at the Jubilee House today

We have to understand that all the sectors and actors of the economy, either on the side of management, labour or workers, have to find a way of balancing the various considerations so that we can all progress and continue, hopefully, in building a stronger economy. 

Inflation has wrecked the market of goods and services, fast depreciating cedi and volatile petroleum prices thrust high cost of living in the country Ghana. 

The president will address the nation on Sunday, 30th October, 2022 at 8pm on the economic hardship the country is facing.
