The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is still trying to get fix the problem which was uprooted on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, with consumers finding it difficult to buy prepaid credit using E-cash and PNS metering systems. 



Tho electricity is readily available in Ghana, but many prepaid customers have been forced to spend their night in the dark since they’re unable to buy prepaid credit for electricity.

The question that everyone is asking is that; “ Is the ECG prepaid central database hacked?” Yet the ECG hasn’t opened up on the real issues behind the current situation. 

Internal source has revealed that, there’s a third party who’s currently in possession of running the prepaid system. This third party is refusing to hand over the power to the ECG. 

Cybersecurity Authority are on the hand to assist the ECG in bringing the power back and make sure everything is under control. Also the ECG is conducting an audit through their system to determine the source of the technical problem they are facing now.

Customers who are on the prepaid system can now purchase prepaid credit when they visit their district offices.
